Stubbers Green sunset

Phil noticed that the sky was looking very good at 7.50pm last night and knowing that sunset was probably going to happen in about half an hour we rushed out to find water! We first thought of the canal at the Pelsall junction but ended up at Stubbers Green in Aldridge. What a gorgeous sunset it was.

Taking photos again

After many, many years break I've started to take photographs again. I used to love going out with my old 35mm SLR but these days enjoy the new digital cameras and seeing the pictures straight away. I mainly use an ultra zoom digital compact camera but sometimes take photos on a Fujifilm Finepix which I always have with me. Then, of course, there's always the phone camera :) One day I hope to buy a DSLR and have a play with more lenses again.

This is my first post on my new blog where I will share the many wonderful sights and scenes in and around Walsall. Here are a few photos I took last night on a disused section of the Wyrley and Essington canal starting in Broad Lane, Bloxwich.
